P3 Social Studies Learning Journey to Geylang Serai Heritage Gallery 2026

On 23, 25 and 26 February, our Primary 3 students embarked on an enriching journey to Geylang Serai Heritage Gallery (GSHG). This Museum-based Learning (MBL) experience served as a “living classroom,” allowing our young learners to step out of their textbooks and into the vibrant history of Singapore.
Guided by knowledgeable Museum Educators, students participated in a multi-sensory exploration of the gallery. The visit was structured around several key activities designed to spark curiosity and empathy:
- Gallery Tours: Students explored curated exhibits showcasing the evolution of Geylang Serai.
- Interactive Exhibits: Through hands-on displays, students experienced the daily lives of early settlers, examining traditional tools and clothing.
- Precinct Walk: A guided walk around the cultural precinct allowed students to observe the unique architecture and the enduring spirit of the community.
