P4 Social Studies Learning Journey to Kreta Ayer Heritage Gallery 2026

Our Primary 4 students visited the Kreta Ayer Heritage Gallery for an immersive Social Studies Museum-based Learning (MBL) experience. This journey brought history to life, allowing students to explore the rich contributions of the Chinese community to Singapore’s development.
Inside the gallery, students delved into five traditional art forms: Chinese Opera, Puppetry, Calligraphy, Tea Appreciation, and Nanyin music. From the aromatic scents of tea leaves to the intricate details of opera costumes, the students gained a sensory understanding of our heritage.
A precinct walk through Chinatown further enriched their learning, as they observed historic shophouses and learned to read traditional right-to-left signboards.
By connecting classroom lessons to real-world artifacts, our students developed a deeper appreciation for Singapore’s multicultural identity.
