2026 Hari Raya Celebration @ SMSP
St. Margaret’s School (Primary) celebrated Hari Raya through a series of engaging activities that deepened students’ understanding of Malay culture and traditions while promoting appreciation for Singapore’s multicultural heritage.
The celebration began with a two-week Hari Raya Pop-Up Exhibition by the Malay Heritage Centre. Through interactive displays, students learnt about Ramadan, the significance of Hari Raya, traditional attire, festive delicacies and the vibrant Hari Raya bazaars in Singapore. During recess, our Rakan Bahasa (Malay Language Ambassadors) and Primary 3–6 Malay Language students shared interesting facts with their peers and guided them through interactive iPad quizzes, making learning both meaningful and enjoyable.
The celebrations culminated in an assembly performance by Mini Monsters, featuring an engaging skit about the true meaning of Hari Raya. Through the story of Nek Eton and her family, students learnt valuable lessons about moderation, forgiveness, gratitude and the importance of family bonds. The performance also highlighted the significance of Ramadan and Hari Raya while encouraging students from all backgrounds to appreciate and celebrate Singapore’s rich cultural diversity.
