Our Principal's vision for nurturing girls of character and purpose through our LIGHT values, inspiring every student to learn, grow and spark possibilities.
Welcome to St Margaret’s School (Primary)! We are a 184-year-old Anglican all-girls’ school, with a rich heritage and strong culture of character and values education. Our mission has remained unchanged since the school was founded by Mrs Maria Dyer in 1842 and we continue to be committed to educate and nurture girls, to develop each of them in body, soul and spirit and equip them for every good work.
Our theme for 2025-2026 is ‘Ignite LIGHT, Spark Possibilities’ and this focuses our efforts. We seek to explicitly teach and develop our LIGHT values in our girls and through their learning experiences in school, to inspire them to dream and grow.
In the words of our School Song, we hope that ‘these sound walls’ of St Margaret’s will be ‘a goodly learning frame’ for many generations of girls who pass through our gates and that ‘for Charity, Patience, Devotion, let’s be known’ will be true for a long time to come.
